We are looking for a personable and trustworthy person with mechanical and electrical knowledge to support our service department by carrying out tasks independently and as part of a team.

About Us:

Apeks Supercritical has been designing and manufacturing botanical oil extraction systems that utilize subcritical and/or supercritical CO2 as a solvent since 2001.  We are veteran owned and all of our systems are proudly built in Johnstown, Ohio with most parts and components produced in the USA.

Job Summary:

Use technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability and communication skills to assist customers via phone, email and in person with installation, testing, diagnosing and maintenance of their Apeks extraction systems as well as training new and existing customers on using their Apeks equipment.  Up to 50% of working days may be spent traveling and visiting customers all over the country.  Tasks will be varied and include a lot of hands-on as well as computer usage and interaction with many people inside and outside of Apeks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer locations to do service work, maintenance and training
  • Handle incoming service request calls and emails in a friendly manner when not traveling
  • Troubleshoot with customers over the phone using manual, diagrams and other technical resources
  • Be ready to act as an Apeks representative and point of contact for customers and non-customers
  • Take care of parts and consumables related needs and shipping
  • Build small assemblies and test components
  • Assumes any other job responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the department or company


  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Substantial professional or extensive personal experience with mechanics and electronics
  • Average or better computer skills including MS office
  • Self-motivated with a strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physically able to lift and move heavy objects if needed along with reasonable mobility and flexibility

Technical Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC electrical circuits using DMM and Ammeter.
  • Identify components in electrical schematics, to include DC power supplies, pressure transducers, fuses, circuit breakers, motor starters, relays, and thermocouples
  • Experience with pneumatic components and circuits
  • High proficiency with mechanic’s tools as well as familiarity with machine fasteners and generalized hardware and shop equipment
  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of power transmission systems, belt, pulleys, gears, driveshafts
  • Experience with industrial plumbing components and assembly practices; pipe, compression, flare fittings; tubing, hoses and pipes
  • Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning principals of operation


Apeks Supercritical is looking for an experienced Buyer to support our day shift production operation. The Buyer is a critical position within our manufacturing team that is responsible for all materials purchases, maintaining proper inventory counts, placing orders for materials/equipment as needed to support production, and communicating status of orders with internal customers.

The desired candidate will be an experienced negotiator and comfortable with holding suppliers accountable for delivery and quality and reporting status of orders to the sales team as well as the manufacturing department.


  • Negotiate with different suppliers for price, quality, timeliness, and other factors.
  • Monitor all purchase orders and maintain regular follow up with all suppliers.
  • Monitor, audit, and reconcile to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Work closely with production manager to ensure proper flow of goods through the ERP system to accurately reflect inventory levels at each stage of the MFG process (Raw material, WIP, Finished Goods).
  • Arrange to expedite with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods when needed.
  • Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress, and contact suppliers to resolve problems
  • Continuously evaluate purchasing process and vendors to identify opportunities for improvement and streamlining
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • At least 5 years of related purchasing/buying experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment
  • Strong attention to detail

    Primary Duties:
    Responsible for shipping and receiving all inventory systematically and physically (unpacking, identifying, examining, and sorting incoming parts, components, and miscellaneous items). Responsible for inventory control (match packing lists, PO’s, and invoices). Schedule and coordinate the daily flow of activity for receiving. Participates in the planning and implementation of new procedures, policies and systems. Other duties as assigned. Skill and abilities required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of shipping and receiving experience.
  • Contact logistics providers to schedule freight for orders.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Proficiency with power tools
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic math skills

    Job purpose:
    The Service Operations Part Specialist will act as the day-to-day point of contact providing excellent service and support to our suppliers and their customers. The Specialist will interact with customers to answer questions, fulfill requests, and solve problems. Maintaining strong customer relationships is critical to our success. Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate records of customers' equipment inventory and relevant activities
  • Develops and maintain effective, professional communications with customers
  • Maintains accurate records of all inbound Auxiliary orders and outbound equipment
  • Processes auxiliary orders for consumables and service program sales
  • Streamlines and develops new processes to drive operational efficiencies
  • Inputs service data and assists scheduling Service Engineers to customer sites.
  • Collaborates with operations to maintain correct service levels of parts
  • Collaborate with Sales and Logistics to ensure shipment process and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates with FSE team to ensure service programs are accurate and scheduled.
  • Ensures review of warranty and guides customer on contracts when issues arise.
  • Updates ERP system with all customer notes and scheduling.
  • In coordination with Service Director, assists with financial oversight and maintaining department budget, especially pertaining to travel, customer visits, service plans and auxiliary part sales.
  • Acts as department liaison for tracking customer bugs and reported issues, in ensuring solutions are coordinated between R&D, Engineering, Service and Sales departments.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have a minimum of four years related experience
  • Excellent relationship building skills, customer resolution and record-keeping are essential
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have computer competency and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
  • Knowledge of equipment and company processes
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Calm, positive attitude with demonstrated team spirit
  • Must have and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license.
  • Working conditions:
    This job operates primarily in a clerical office setting, but also somewhat in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Physical requirements:
    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

    POSITION IS IN-HOUSE AT OUR JOHNSTOWN, OHIO HQ We have an opening at Apeks Supercritical for a Stainless TIG welder/polisher. Please review the following job description: Primary Duties:

  • Perform GTAW(TIG) on stainless steel pipe/tube. Must be able to pass 2” 6-G qualification test.
  • Experience at other welding and cutting processes. Operate other production equipment to complete required tasks.
  • Must have stainless steel tig and mig flux core and solid wire experience.
  • Must have superior attention to detail on production tasks.
  • Secondary Duties will include:
  • Operate polishing equipment to clean stainless steel welds
  • Any other duties that become necessary

  • Proficiency with hand tools

  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
