Washington LCB Lowers CO2 Extraction System Pressure Vessel Rating Requirement to 600psi

Washington Administrative Code

On June 20, 2015, the Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board enacted changes to Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 314-55-104 section 3, which specifically states:

“Processors may use a professional grade closed loop CO2 gas extraction system where every vessel is rated to a minimum of six hundred pounds per square inch. The CO2 must be of at least ninety-nine percent purity.”

This change lowered the required vessel pressure rating for CO2 extraction systems from 900psi to 600psi that was originally put in place by the original LCB Permanent Rules WSR 13-21-104 that became effective November 21, 2013.
